Have women’s clothing sizes gotten larger in the past decade with vanity sizing?
I’ve lost some weight recently and tried on some Ralph Lauren Jeans and the 2 Petites were too big. I used to wear RL’s 2P’s up until 10 years ago and they always fit me perfectly until I gained weight. I finally lost the weight I’d gained and the new RL’s classic cut are huge in the hip area. They were literally falling off of me.
You have it exactly right. Vanity sizing has definitely changed sizing where an article of clothing that used to be a true size 6 is now actually a 10 or 12 marked as a 6. The more expensive the clothes the smaller they are marked to sell.
